Variable-Length Fields

Processing the file using MARCedit's MARC Validator discovered problems with incorrect indicators, improper subfield coding, and other issues with several records. These have been reported to the vendor.  Vendor reports records will be corrected and records reissued.   Source of description notes, e.g. Description based on...  are in a Field 500 rather than the newer  field 588.  

 

Subject Headings/Classification 

Library of Congress Subject headings are used.

 

Other

The record set used for evaluation had already had some customization performed on it, e.g. the proxy URL had been added, 949 field added for holdings.  

How the update of these records will be handled by the vendor is unknown as of 8/18/2010.
